Cologne’s Christmas markets start to open on the 14th November, with most opening by the 17th! The most famous is set against the backdrop of Cologne Cathedral, while others include the Markt der Engel (Angels’ Market) at Neumarkt and the Harbour Market by the Rhine (where you can go on the Ferris Wheel for amazing views). In between markets, you can visit the Chocolate Museum, stroll along the Rhine promenade, or relax in a traditional beer hall with a glass of Kölsch.
